Barry T. Simons is a nationally recognized expert in the area of DUI Defense. Mr. Simons has spent over 40 years
fighting for drivers' rights in Orange County's Courts, the Courts of Appeal, the California Supreme Court, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court.
Mr. Simons is a Founding Member,
Fellow and former Dean of the National College for DUI Defense. He is one of only 5
attorneys in the entire State of California to hold Board Certification in DUI Defense
under standards set forth and certified by the American Bar Association. Mr. Simons has served as Vice-Chair of the
DUI Advocacy Comm. of the National Assn. of Criminal Defense Attorney. Mr. Simons is currently
on the Board Of Directors of the California DUI Lawyers Association and has qualified as a
Specialist Member.
Mr. Simons is rated "Preeminent" by Martindale-Hubbell (a designation
limited to the top 5% of law firms in the County) and has been selected
to "Who's Who In American Law". Mr. Simons has been awarded the coveted peer review rating of AV® ("very high to

After graduating from U.C. Berkeley in 1980, Mr. Burglin received his law degree from Gonzaga University School of Law in Washington. He is the co-author of a two-volume treatise, California Drunk Driving Law, which has long been considered the Bible in California DUI defense law.
For the past 20-plus years Mr. Burglin has specialized in the field of DUI defense, becoming nationally recognized by his peers as a tenacious and ardent defender for those accused of driving under the influence. Mr. Burglin has lectured throughout the State of California and the country.
Mr. Burglin is a Regent and frequent lecturer with the National College for DUI Defense (NCDD.com) and keeps abreast of the ever-changing technology used in chemical testing and forensics. Mr. Burglin is one of only a select few of DUI defense attorneys in the United States to have been accepted to attend the University of Indiana’s Borkenstein Course on chemical testing and scientific protocols offered to prosecution experts, and he is a certified graduate of that program.
